Policy Advocacy
Policy work in Indian sport now runs through statute rather than consultation papers. We draft and review legislation, rules and subordinate instruments, make written submissions to ministries and regulators during consultation, and help federations bring their constitutions, byelaws, election rules and conflict of interest codes into line with the National Sports Governance Act 2025 and the Khelo Bharat Niti 2025.
Competition Laws
Due to globalization, India has opened up its economy to the world and liberalized. We provide regulatory review and advice to clients to prevent them from entering into anti-competitive practices.
Sponsorship & Endorsement
We often connect our clients to various corporate stakeholders and industry experts for the purpose of generating revenue and also advise them on innovative ways of further commercialising their business, apart from structuring and drafting of sponsorship, endorsement and merchandising deals.
Entertainment Law & Talent Management
Athletes, presenters and creators are media businesses in their own right, yet the agreements governing their appearances, their content and their likeness are frequently drafted by the other side. We cover commercial rights packaging, agency and representation mandates, activations, advertising and influencer compliance, talent and ambassador agreements, image and likeness licensing, and content, format, documentary and life story rights.
Investment, Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions
Sports and media transactions look like ordinary mergers and acquisitions until the sporting layer appears: federation consents, ownership and control rules, multi-club restrictions and media rights that may not be assignable. We handle buy side and sell side mandates, legal due diligence, merger control, inbound investment and FEMA structuring, fund and venue financing, and public listings.
Dispute Resolution
Having represented India's top athletes, like Sushil Kumar, and some of the leading corporates in the business before various high courts and arbitration tribunals, we work with our clients to device litigation strategies and engage with some of the leading counsels in cities across India.
Esports
Esports sits on two statutory footings at once: recognition as a sport under the National Sports Governance Act 2025, and registration as an esport under the online gaming framework. We advise on classification and registration with the Online Gaming Authority of India, player, team and streamer contracts, tournament regulations and e-doping provisions, publisher licensing, and data compliance.
Intellectual Property
We advise our clients on the management of numerous intellectual property rights including brand & image rights, personality rights along with assisting them in filing applications for trademark, copyright, patent registrations and defend against breaches or infringements of such rights.
Gaming & Betting and Compliance with PROG Act 2025
India's gaming law changed substantially between August 2025 and May 2026. We advise gaming platforms, esports operators and investors on classification and registration under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 and the 2026 Rules, on restructuring formats away from prohibited real money models, and on advertising, enforcement and foreign investment risk.
Technology & Data Privacy
Sport runs on software: officiating, ticketing, wearables, performance analytics and fan platforms. We negotiate software, SaaS and technology procurement contracts with attention to who owns the resulting data and who carries the risk when a system fails mid-event, and we run data protection compliance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Rules notified in November 2025, including children's and athlete health data.
