Policy work in the Indian sporting ecosystem has moved from consultation papers to statute. The Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, the National Sports Governance Act 2025, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Act, 2025 were all notified within 18 months. Sports good manufacturing was moved from DPIIT to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the National Code Against Age Fraud, 2025 has been circulated for public consultation.

Federations must ensure that their own constitutions, byelaws and governance codes fall into line with the new statutory framework, often without the in-house capacity to interpret what the law actually requires of them, let alone draft it. Stakeholders in the industry must be aware of the schemes launched under the Policy and also be mindful of the applicable laws which impact their business.

We work directly on that text: advising government departments and regulators during consultation and helping federations rewrite their own governing documents so they hold up under the new regime rather than merely gesture at it and assist stakeholders in ensuring that they don’t fall afoul of the applicable laws. The goal, in both directions, is legislation and governance that the people and institutions living with it afterwards can actually work with.
